Which battery for which camera?
Updated 18 Oct 2026
Pick batteries by watt-hours, not by brand. Work out how much energy your camera uses per hour, then how many packs cover the day. The table uses each camera's published power draw.
Wh per hour = draw ÷ 0.85 (to allow for losses). For a full day add your monitor, wireless video and focus motors, then round up and keep one pack on charge. Larger cinema cameras (ALEXA 35, VENICE 2, Mini LF) draw enough that 150 Wh packs or a block battery are the usual choice; B-Mount (26 V) packs suit them because current at 26 V is roughly half that at 14.4 V.
Rule of thumb on mounts: V-Mount and Gold Mount are 14.4 V nominal; B-Mount is 26 V nominal. Check your camera's battery plate and input voltage range before mixing.
